Borrow Wood School in Spondon recently contacted us to see if we could produce a mobile rack for their primary school children to put their wellies on when they have been playing outside.
We looked at what we could do and the concept of what became known as the Wellly Waggon was born ! (Or Wellie Waggon – the debate still rages! ). The school liked what we suggested and we were a bit taken aback when they asked for 10 ! Undaunted, we have been drilling, sanding and cutting most of the summer holidays to produce the waggons and last Saturday the last came off the production line ready for a coat of varnish and delivery for the new school term !
Sweet Charity !
Over the last few months we have been working to meet the requirements of the Charity Commission of England and Wales for us to be recognised as a charity. On 24th August the great news came through that we are now officially registered as Registered Cahrity number 1219377.
Becoming a charity (specifically a CIO – Comminuty Interest Organisation) is an important step for us – It tells the world that our group is run for specifically non profit purposes and properly controlled . Without the reassurance of a registration, most Grant making bodies will not consider us for larger contributions and as you will see from our Shed project pages – one thing we really need is some large donations !
Tyspannersaurus Wrench
Andy Taylor was feeling creative and used a bag of old spanners to create Tyspannersaurus – Andy’s offered him for sale on our stand, but I’m not sure we want to let him go !
